Rovi Products is now offering the Zero Point quick change solution for workholding on your CNC Vertical & Horizontal Mills. The Zero Point System is a pneumatic operated workholding fixture that offers quick part change over, with repeatable position accuracy of .0002ö.

Using a pull stud type locator and clamp mechanism, this system allows you to easily configure your own top plate to suit your application.

Pneumatic system advantages:
Due to the simple design, the pneumatic Zero point system only needs a quick connection of air for release of the spring holding mechanism. There is an optional air blast mode for clearing chips. The design provides secure clamping forces of more than 3,300 lb and a holding force of more than 13,000 lb. These fixtures can be used in a variety of applications, including with 4th & 5th axis Rotary devices on Vertical and Horizontal Machining Centers. Due to the unique design, no air lines need to be permanently mounted, which allows clamping and unclamping by using a single air line. This is ideal for rotary applications where permanent air lines can get in the way or on stationary applications where chips can build up, etc.

The Zero Point clamping system features a clamping wedge lock, or knob, gripped in a chuck via a self-locking mechanical clamping system. Spring pressure drives wedges against the knob. Air pressure is used to compress the springs and release the knob.
