Rovi SmartVac II Workholding System

The SmartVac II Workholding System is a simple and streamlined approach to vacuum chuck workholding. Not only does it NOT require an expensive and cumbersome vacuum pump, but the system also uses removable top plates to easily create custom fixtures for small or irregular parts. Plus, the system has the ability to link multiple bases and control them from a single control. No pump, no hassles, no brainer.

Vac Base Features:
1 - Vacuum inlet.
2 - Side steps for all-around clamping.
- Threaded holes enable mounting blank top plates for custom part workholding.
- "Fine Grid" spacing allows for maximum part surface area exposure.
- Multiple vacuum inlets enables several parts to be held on one chuck. Simply plug the inlets that aren't used.

The SmartVac II Vacuum Base is machined then ground flat and parallel to an accuracy of ą0.001". The base can easily connect to existing pumps or the preferred SmartVac II Vacuum Control Unit. Link multiple bases and control them from the same valve. Best of all, the Base is designed to accurately hold and locate our Top Plates with a repeatability of 0.001". This opens up a world of flexibility to adapt the system to hold small or irregular parts.

2 - Instant tube fittings for easy connections.
3 - Vacuum indicator. Flush with the surface means the system is at full vacuum power.
4 - System exhaust. No need for filters or traps. Coolant and particles pass right through the system.

The Vacuum Control Unit is the heart of the system. The vacuum is generated, turned on and off and monitored from this single unit. Compressed air enters at 80 PSI which is converted to 26" Hg of vacuum power... equal or better than traditional vacuum pumps. Best of all, it only consumes 0.8 CFM of air, about the same as blowing on a hot cup of coffee.

Top Plate Features:
1 - By using specialized locating bolts, the Top Plates are aligned and secured to the SmartVac II Base with a repeatability of 0.001".
2 - Mic-6 Aluminum tooling plate. Ground flat and parallel to ą0.001".

Dimensions:
14" x 9.5" x .375"

Use a Top Plate to customize a fixture to your part's exact size and shape. Simply machine a 0.118" slot 0.095" deep just inside the edge of your part profile and tuck the gasket cord in the groove to create a seal.

Every Top Plate comes with 15 feet of 1/8" gasket cord.
